F-210 Zdeněk Burián

(*11.2.1905 - †1.7.1981) A native of Kopřivnice, painter and illustrator of an international format. His enormous body of work comprises around 14,000 illustrations and pictures. He was able to precisely render the details and atmosphere of the environment. He especially made his name with paintings of prehistoric animals and people. His brilliant pen drawings, gouache and temperas have illustrated, for example, books by E. Štorch, J. Foglar, K. May or J. Verne.
