F-466 Vlaším Château

The original castle was established along with a market settlement on a promontory above the Blanice River around 1300. It saw out the Hussite Wars without any significant damage, but the turning point came at the end of the 16th century when Jan Vostrovec of Kralovice renovated the castle as a magnificent mannerist château. The baroque modifications have only been preserved in the so-called painted hall and the Chapel of Saint Lawrence in the tower dating from 1771. The château received its final appearance in the mid-19th century from Karel Vilém (Carlos) Auersperg, who added the south-eastern, late classicist wing and the south-west annexe.
