F-594 Svojanov

The first mention of the village appeared in the Zbraslav Chronicle in 1287. The establishment and history of Svojanov are inseparably associated with the fate of the castle of the same name, which was built by Přemysl Otakar II to protect one of the most significant trade routes. Zavis of Falkenstein subsequently transformed the gothic fortress into a seat on a European level. The township experienced its greatest growth in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the development of the textile industry. Svojanov is now a popular recreational centre due to its significant history and abundant nature.
