F-235 Saint Cyril

(*around 826 - †14 February 869) Slavic preacher, priest and missionary - together with St. Methodius, the main patron saint of Moravia. He originally worked as a professor of philosophy in Constantinople. He created the Glagolitic script for the mission in Great Moravia. By translating all the liturgical books into a language understood in Moravia and spreading religion, he laid the foundations of the local church.
