F-583 Otokar Březina

(*13 September 1868 - †25 March 1929) One of the greatest Czech poets and a leading representative of symbolism, nominated 8 times for the Nobel Prize. This very modest man, a teacher by profession, brought to life so many metaphors and manifestations of the one reality from the Czech language that he influenced all poetry of the 20th century. The construction of his verses and his imagery are exceptional poetic phenomena in the history of Czech literature.
