F-777 Josef Smítka

(*21.12.1919 - †27.3.1945) A legendary sandstone climber who endeavoured to popularise climbing and promoted a clean climbing style. He made many first ascents of the cliffs in the Bohemian Paradise. He established new climbing standards, advanced the frontiers of safety and raised the level of difficulty. This native of Turnov knew no obstacles on the rock face or in life.
