F-193 Josef Kajetán Tyl

(*4.2.1808 - †11.7.1856) A Czech writer, dramatist and journalist from Kutná Hora. He contributed to the establishment of the Kajetán Theatre which he also managed for a number of years. He also wrote or translated up to 50 plays for it, including the works of W. Shakespeare. The song “Kde domov můj”, which people raised to be their anthem and still the anthem today, was first heard in Tyl’s singspiel Fidlovačka.
