F-189 Jaroslav Seifert

(*23 September 1901 - †10 January 1986) The only Czech winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. World-renowned poet, journalist and translator, considered one of the co-founders of poetics. In 1966 he was named a national artist. He was always primarily concerned with the possibility of free expression. His poems have been translated into dozens of languages.
