(*30.4.1883 - †3.1.1923) A Czech writer, publicist and journalist and the author of the most translated book in Czech literature (almost 60 languages) The Good Soldier Švejk. He was a bohemian and a vagrant, a patient listener, but also an excellent entertainer. He often wrote under pseudonyms and he seldom wrote of things that he had not personally experienced.
