F-297 Jan Adolf II of Schwarzenberg

(*28.5.1799 - †15.9.1888) A prince of the aristocratic House of Schwarzenberg and the twelfth Duke of Krumlov. He was significantly instrumental in modernising farming and industry in South Bohemia and the Bohemian Forest. Thanks to him, the Schwarzenberg demesne became a symbol of prosperity and inspiration not only in Bohemia, but also throughout Europe. He gave the Hluboká nad Vltavou château its current appearance.
