F-159 George of Poděbrady

(* April 23, 1420 - † March 22, 1471) One of the greatest Czech kings, although he was the only one not to come from a royal dynasty. He ruled energetically and wisely, and it was during his reign that Catholics and Hussites lived side by side in peace. With the idea of the unification of Europe and the creation of a medieval community of nations, the "King of the Two Peoples" was ahead of his time by at least 500 years.
