(*1.8.1848 - †30.4.1912) The best known Czech bandleader and composer of brass band music, a famous conductor and a patriot body and soul. At the time of its greatest fame, his Sokol brass orchestra had up to 70 members. Kmoch composed over 230 marches and dance pieces. He visited a number of European states, but he always remained faithful to his beloved Kolín.
