F-701 Ernst Gideon von Laudon

(*13.2.1717 - †14.7.1790) One of the most famous military leaders of the 18th century, a brilliant strategist and a feared adversary. He served the Austrian emperors for 50 years. He was the architect of a number of victories over the Prussians, but also performed well in battles with the Turks. At the end of his career, Leopold II appointed him Imperial Generalissimo. He died during a tour of inspection in Nový Jičín.
