(*7 July 1207 - †17 November 1231) The second most important saint after the Virgin Mary, a Hungarian princess, Landgravine of Thuringia, nun, patroness, and protector of the poor. She was strongly influenced by the ideals of the Franciscans, whose order she entered. She lived in the service of the sick and the poor. She apparently died of exhaustion and left her property to the poor.
