F-683 Bystřice nad Pernštejnem

The first written mention of the town dates from 1298. It received its name from the local Bystřice River. In the 14th century, it became an economic, administrative and commercial centre for all the surrounding villages of the Pernstein Estate. Bystřice was raised to the status of a town in 1580 by Rudolf II. The town suffered significant fires in 1585, 1666 and 1841 and this led to its decline. The conditions for the modern development of Bystřice were mainly created by the introduction of the railway in June 1905 and later by the growth of the mining industry in the nearby environs.
