F-237 Antonín Slavíček

(*16 May 1870 - †1 February 1910) Impressionist painter and one of the founders of the Czech modern art tradition. He created with spots of colour, evoking the impression of movement and swirling. He masterfully captured the play of light and shadow. In his works, full of melancholy, he depicted the landscape of the Vysočina region and the corners of Prague. In 1900 he won a bronze medal at the World's Fair in Paris.
