F-209 Adalbert Stifter

(*23.10.1805 - †28.1.1868) A writer and poet of the Bohemian Forest, landscape painter and teacher. This native of Horní Planá was able to masterfully describe the beauty of his beloved Bohemian Forest, the character of the inhabitants and their difficult fates. He is a leading representative of the Czech-Austrian Biedermeier. His relationship with nature and his message of the harmonious cohabitation of nations means that he is still current today.
