F-406 Teplice

It is one of the oldest spas in Central Europe. The first written mention of the town and its curative springs date from the 8th century. However, archaeological findings from the Roman period testify to their use around 0 AD. The town was established on a commercial route to Saxony and it can thank trade, mining and its curative springs for its development. It was at the peak of its fame at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. It was called “Little Paris” or the “Salon of Europe” due to its level of culture and its classicist and Empire-style architecture. The town has been visited by many dignitaries throughout its existence.
