F-178 Saint Ludmila

(*860 - †15.9.921) The first Czech and Slav female saint, the wife of the Přemyslid Prince Bořivoj and the grandmother of Saint Wenceslas. She was a kind, compassionate and ardently religious woman. She stood at the beginning of the Christian identity of the Czech nation, Czech statehood and idea of raising children in truth and love. The “Mother of the Czech Country” died a martyr’s death at Tetín Castle.
