We publish several types and formats – for places, events, anniversaries, people and teams.
This is the original and oldest area of interest, for which the Wander Book project was created in 2008. You can find a wide range of tourist destinations in this area which may be of interest to you. This area will take you to remarkable places which are located in this country and abroad and will enable you to broaden your travel horizons. (At present, the area includes more than 9000 places from seven European countries.)
An integral part of this area particularly involves the Participant‘s Cards from tourism, but also from other events. The Personal Cards of tourists and fans of the project, who participate at annual swap meets and gatherings where they can exchange their stickers, are also becoming extremely popular.
Culture and tourism sometimes significantly overlap and some destinations can be perceived as tourism and cultural destinations at the same time. The first buildings incorporated into the area of culture were theatres and libraries, which originally fell under tourism. Culture is therefore the youngest area to have been incorporated into the project.
There is an extensive range of events on offer ranging from various festivals, celebrations and exhibitions through to fetes, Advent markets and other leisure time activities. These events provide a living space for meeting artists and cultural celebrities who may also be represented by a Personal Card or a Team Card.
The area of sport has been part of the Wander Book project since 2015. We want to show that sport is not only fun, but that it is often also a path to learning and, of course, of great benefit for health.
We would especially like to include teams from the highest sports competitions in the project and to acquaint you with the wide range of events, where you can meet up with people who have devoted their lives to sport.
As each of us knows, good food and accommodation are part of travel. Thanks to this area of interest, we can provide you with places and tips where you can not only sate your hunger, but also relax in a pleasant atmosphere. By establishing the new categories in the area of gastronomy, the project has been able to include places which are strongly associated with travel, but which had previously not been classifiable.
Gastronomical events enable you to get a taste of the aromatic world of food, delicious wine and sweet delicacies. Gastro-festivals, cooking shows or workshops will acquaint you with the current trends and introduce you to the secrets of local and exotic cuisine. These activities also very often include renowned cooking celebrities.
Wander Cards are becoming increasingly common. As the name suggests, they are published in relation to places of interest, such as castles, lookout towers and museums. This may also involve theatres, sports grounds or hotels and restaurants in the areas outside tourism. This is the only type to contain GPS coordinates which makes it very easy for you to plan your trips.
Participant’s Cards are published for various events. Most frequently, this involves long hikes or cultural festivities and performances, sports events and gastro-festivals. This mainly involves one-off events, but may also include long-term or annual events which are not recorded under a precise date. The sales always only take place at the given event and in exceptional cases the Participant’s Cards are even given to event participants free of charge. They are cancelled after the event and it is no longer possible to obtain them.
Anniversary Cards are published upon the occasion of a specific anniversary. This may involve a significant event, the birth or death of a well-known personality and other jubilees. They are available from sellers which are associated with the anniversary for a maximum of the year. Then they are cancelled.
Personal Cards always present only a single specific person. This may involve a well-known artist, a top sportsperson or an everyday tourist or fan of the Wander Book project.
Team Cards are designed for various interest groups, teams, clubs or associations. The team must always consist of at least two people. You can find hiking clubs, artistic ensembles, professional sports clubs and other teams among them.
