When hikers first began to discover the beauty of the Pravčice Gate, a small bark covered house stood at its foot and was used as taproom. In 1881, the owner of the estate, Prince Edmund Clary-Aldringen, built the small Falcon’s Nest (Sokolí hnízdo) château near the Pravčice Gate. He invited workers from Italy to do this and they completed the work within a year. Several years later, a railing was built on the cliff observation points in the immediate vicinity. A fee soon began to be charged for entry into the area shortly after the completion of the construction of the restaurant. Nowadays, access to the top plateau is prohibited.
