F-436 Polná

It was established around the middle of the 12th century. For centuries, it was located either directly on or in close proximity to the main trading routes across Vysočina. For this reason, it was owned by a number of significant aristocratic houses. After the Battle of White Mountain, the estate was purchased by the House of Dietrichstein, which remained its owner for almost 300 years. In the mid-19th century, Polná was the third largest town in Vysočina and a significant Jewish community lived there. The town changed its appearance and economic character after a fire in 1863. Now, it is a growing town with pleasant environs which hosts the Mrkvancova Fair.
