F-284 Maurice Pellé

(*18.4.1863 - †16.3.1924) French general, diplomat and first Chief of Staff for the Czechoslovak Defensive Forces. He was admired for his intelligence, acute judgement and moral qualities. He was appointed the supreme leader of the armed forces of the Czechoslovak Republic in case of war at the authorisation of President Masaryk. He built up the general staff and initiated the establishment of the 1st military academy and the new Defence Act.
