F-693 Kokořin

Kokořín Castle was probably built by Hynek Berka of Dubá in the 2nd quarter of the 14th century. The castle was in a dilapidated state after the Hussite Wars and was not fit for habitation, which led to frequent changes in its owners. In 1715, the lords of the House of Bubna built a single-story baroque château on the northern side of the Meyerhof and established a garden on the southern side. The House of Swéerts-Sporck later modified the château and established a natural landscape park there. Kokořín was purchased by the landowner V. Špaček in 1894. His family still administers the castle today and have done so since it was returned to them in 2006.
