F-214 Josef Gočár

(*13 March 1880 - †10 September 1945) The most versatile Czech architect of the first half of the 20th century, a native of Semín. His buildings are original, artistically sensitive, and functionally perfect; they shocked and amazed. With his designs, he overtook other architecture around the world by a decade. His contribution to the town planning of some cities, especially Hradec Králové, is highly valued.
