He had an enormous talent for psychology and always thought everything through to the smallest detail. He won over Europe with his progressive textbooks and methods. The most famous works of this Bishop of the Unitas Fratrum are Janua linguarum reserata (The Door of Languages Unlocked) and Orbis Pictus (The Visible World in Pictures).
