F-243 Jan Hrubý

(*4.3.1915 - †18.6.1942) A sergeant in the Czechoslovak Army in Great Britain, a member of the Bioscope paratroop unit and a hero of the anti-Nazi resistance. He was charged with carrying out industrial sabotage. He and the parachutist J. Bublík found shelter in Prague with the Sokol resistance. After the assassination of R. Heydrich, he hid in the crypt of the Church of Saint Cyril and Methodius, where he was killed by superior numbers of Nazi troops.
