F-179 Gustav Mahler

(*7.7.1860 - †18.5.1911) The most famous conductor of his age and an internationally renowned composer born in Kaliště u Humpolce. The basis of his work consists of 9 symphonies and a number of song cycles. He often found inspiration in the Czech environment and he wrote gentle and lovely music surrounded by great grief. He was not fully appreciated during his lifetime, but he knew that his time would come.
