F-249 František Antonín Špork

(*9.3.1662 - †30.3.1738) The richest aristocrat of baroque Bohemia, who built the extensive premises in Kuks and Lysá nad Labem. He gained fame as a patron of artists, especially the sculptor Matyáš Bernard Braun and the engraver Michael Rentz. Thanks to him, musical works by masters such as A. Vivaldi were brought to Bohemia. He was also a publisher of a remarkable number of books.
