F-153 Edvard Beneš

(*28.5.1884 - †3.9.1948) A respected European diplomat with an enormous range of political knowledge. He stood at the genesis of the League of Nations, was a leading figure in the international resistance and made significant contributions to the establishment of Czechoslovakia. He defended the country’s existence and form at Versailles and he became its second president. In the words of T.G. Masaryk: “Without Beneš, there would be no republic.”
